Potential Knicks free agent targets: E’Twaun Moore, New Orleans Pelicans

E’Twaun Moore is coming off a four-year contract with the Pelicans, and the 31-year-old wing will be looking to secure another payday in these troubling financial times.

Moore is an intriguing veteran option for a team like the Knicks, as someone who could work with their young guards, while providing shooting from deep. The 6-foot-3 guard saw his 3P% drop to 38% this season, but he shot well above 42% in three of his previous four campaigns.

He might be reaching a point in his career when he is looking to join a contender. However, money always talks. There aren’t many teams with cap space this summer, and while it probably won’t take a lot of money to secure Moore (he is only valuable if he is cheap), the depressed market could turn a reasonable offer into the highest-paid option.

While Moore isn’t a great defender, his versatility on offense would allow the Knicks to put better defenders (ahem Frank Ntilikina) around him in creating a balanced bench unit.

For the right price, he would be a valuable add to Tom Thibodeau’s roster.
