Signed Ramon Sessions

GRADE: F

Thinking a veteran point guard would help Frank Ntilikina develop, the Knicks added Ramon Sessions to the roster on a one-year, $2.3 million deal in 2017.

Sessions lasted only 13 games with the Knicks. After starting the first three games of the season, he was overtaken in the lineup by Jarrett Jack who helped spur a Knicks winning streak (and yes, that actually happened). Through the Knicks first ten games in 2017-18, they were 0-4 when Sessions played, and 6-0 when he was stapled to the bench.

The Knicks eventually waived him and he signed with the Wizards.

While Sessions was a low-cost addition to the roster, it’s hard to call the signing anything but a disaster. The fact he started the season in the starting lineup tells you the Knicks thought he would be a contributor.
