Signed Michael Beasley

GRADE: B-

You know, this one didn’t turn out so bad. While Beasley is Beasley, and he leaves a lot to be desired, he had some impressive stretches with the Knicks, averaging 13.2 points on 50.7 percent shooting, while also grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game. He was signed on a veteran minimum deal in 2017.

During a dismal 2017-18 season, Michael Beasley provided excitement on several nights in which he took over the scoring sheet, dropping 30+ points, proving as unstoppable as he predicted he would be during the preseason.

Signed to the vet’s minimum ($2.6 million at the time), it was a low risk move for the Knicks that helped them fill out their roster and provide scoring when key players were out of the lineup.

If anything, Beasley provided endless content for social media with his bizarre interviews and memeable style of play. Joking aside, he performed a bit better than I expected, but the limitations in his game ultimately showed on defense.
