New York Knicks season ticket holders received guidance on refund options for remaining 2019-20 regular season games that are unlikely to be played in front of fans.

With the remainder of the 2019-20 NBA season in peril, or unlikely to resume in front of fans, the New York Knicks are offering their season ticket holders refund and credit options.

According to an email sent to season ticket holders, fans can receive a refund for the remaining games on the 19-20 schedule, or they can roll-over this year’s money toward next season. The email was first reported by the New York Post.

In a copy of the email shared with Daily Knicks, the team told fans they will delay the 2020-21 season ticket renewal period, which normally occurs in March. If fans decide to roll-over their 2019-20 credit toward a season ticket renewal for next season, they can choose a gift among these three options: $150 food or beverage credit, $150 MSG Store credit, or an RJ Barrett Nike “Swingman” jersey.

Fans who purchased individual tickets for games not yet played this season were already informed in late March that they could wait until games were rescheduled, request a refund, or receive a credit.

The Knicks had an 11-22 record at Madison Square Garden when the league was shuttered due to the novel coronavirus in mid-March. There are eight remaining home games on the schedule that are eligible for refund or credit toward the 2020-21 season.

While there is optimism basketball will return at some point this summer, or as late as next fall, it is unlikely that games will be played in front of fans anytime soon, and it is unclear whether the league will resume following the same regular season schedule, if they decide to play any regular season schedule at all before jumping into a playoff format.

With the Knicks losing 22 games at home this season, it represents the seventh consecutive season they have finished with a losing record at the World’s Most Famous Arena. They went 31-10 at home during their miraculous–doesn’t it feel that way now–54 win season in 2012-13.
