Killian Tillie, Gonzaga Bulldogs

The New York Knicks are the worst three-point shooting team in the NBA. New York was the only franchise to convert fewer than 10 three-point field goals per game in 2019-20, and ranked in the bottom-five in three-point field goal percentage.

Adding a sharpshooting center may not solve that issue, but it’d go a long way towards adding an element that the offense currently lacks.

Gonzaga Bulldogs standout Killian Tillie has the game to be the perfect complement to Mitchell Robinson. While Robinson thrives as a defender and offensive rebounder, Tillie can be a floor-spacing big who even provides value passing out of the high post.

Tillie averaged 22.1 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.4 three-point field goals made per 40 minutes in 2019-20, and could provide similar value—not production—to the Knicks.

Tillie buried 104 three-point field goals on 44.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc during his four-year career at Gonzaga. His value is admittedly limited on defense, but he’d be an ideal role player if the Knicks could carve out a specific role for him.

Even if Tillie is limited to spot appearances, having a sharpshooter to bring off the bench would provide a significant boost to the offense—especially at a position that struggles to defend the 3-ball.
