Shannon Brown, who briefly played with the New York Knicks, was arrested for allegedly shooting a couple trying to tour his home.

Shannon Brown, who played 19 games for the New York Knicks during the end of the 2013-14 season, was arrested in metro Atlanta last week for allegedly firing a rifle at two people who were trying to enter his home, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Nobody was injured during the shooting.

The incident stems from an apparent mix-up over Brown’s home being listed for sale. A couple searching for homes in the area saw a “for sale” sign in his yard and thought they could enter when the gate and front door were left open, according to a police spokesman who confirmed the arrest to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The 34-year-old, two-time champion with the Lakers came outside holding a rifle and fired multiple shots toward the couple, as they ran for safety, according to the allegations.

The couple reportedly did not contact the police about the alleged shooting until nearly four hours later. Upon investigating the scene, the police recovered one empty shell casing.

Brown signed consecutive 10-day contracts with the Knicks in February and March of 2014. He ended up sticking with the team for the remainder of that season, appearing in 19 games off the bench.

Since being waived by the Miami Heat in 2014, he has tried to keep his basketball career going in the G-League during the 2017-18 season. Last year, he signed as a co-captain in Ice Cube’s Big3 league, playing for the Aliens team in the three-on-three format.
