With uncertainty surrounding the 2020 season, it is possible several New York Knicks players have played their final home game in New York.

There seems to be a lot of optimism about the NBA returning in some capacity to finish off the 2019-20 season. In fact, when a report circulated that the NBA would likely cancel the season, the league’s brightest star was quick to reject the idea. But if the season is ultimately canceled, have several players played their last game for the New York Knicks?

Of course, there are financial incentives for both the players and owners to figure out a way to find a conclusion to this year’s campaign, but the unpredictable nature of the novel coronavirus might get in the way of best business intentions. The league announced last week that May’s NBA Draft Lottery and NBA Draft Combine will be postponed, and league officials have discussed delaying the start of the 2020-21 season until December.

While ideas have been floated about how the NBA could return this summer, nobody knows what the league will look like. It is possible, given the calendar and challenges associated with finishing out a regular season, the league decides to jump straight to a playoff format, which, unless it is a March Madness style, everybody gets invited, let’s go crazy with single elimination format, the Knicks would be on the outside looking in.

Obviously, there is still a real chance the 2019-20 season ends up being canceled entirely.

If the New York Knicks have played their final game as a collective group this year, does that mean several players have played their final game as a Knick without even knowing it?

The Knicks have a roster filled with players on non-guaranteed deals and club options, which gives new president Leon Rose a lot of flexibility in turning the roster over. Let’s take a look at the players who might have played their last game as a Knick, if the 2019-20 season never returns.
