Selecting a shooting guard in the top-10 of a second consecutive NBA Draft might not be the answer for the New York Knicks. Thankfully, there should be a number of intriguing options at the back end of Round 1, as well as the early parts of Round 2.

Arizona Wildcats standout Josh Green is leading that charge on the shooting guard front, and could be a valuable addition for Scott Perry and the Knicks.

Green is one of the most intriguing defensive players in the 2020 NBA Draft. He stands at 6’6″ and 210 pounds with a solid wingspan, and displays tremendous potential in both on-ball and off-ball settings as a versatile defensive wing.

Not only does Green have the build to defend all three perimeter positions, but he’s shown a willingness to take on most assignments that are thrown his way.

Green is still raw on the offensive end of the floor, but there are already skills that can be developed into legitimate strengths. He’s an effective shooter when his feet are set, has shown a willingness to create for his teammates, and looks to be an efficient straight-line finisher.

An impressive athlete who can play above the rim and rotate defensively, Green could be the perfect 3-and-D player to complement RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson.
