With the 2019-20 NBA regular season on hold, New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson should make film study his top priority. Who should he be watching?

The New York Knicks may have struck gold in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft. Shockingly available at No. 36 overall was a projected lottery pick whose stock had fallen due to the polarizing decision to skip college and focus entirely on preparing for the Association.

The sample size is still limited, but through two seasons with the Knicks, Mitchell Robinson has proven to be a far better player than who should’ve been available at No. 36.

Robinson is a physical anomaly, standing at 7’0″ and 240 pounds with a 7’4″ wingspan and indescribable athleticism. Many are able to sky above the rim and either block shots or throw down visually appealing dunks, but Robinson takes it to a different level.

Robinson will not only block your shot in the paint, but run from one end of the court to the other and swat a corner 3 into the crowd.

Seriously:

Offensively, Robinson is already one of the most productive rebounders in the Association. He’s a constant threat for putbacks and lobs. Even still, the general consensus is that he’s nowhere near as good as he’s capable of being.

In order to take the next step in his development, Mitchell Robinson should take advantage of this golden opportunity to bury himself in film.

That process should begin with one of the greatest players in New York Knicks history.
