Matchup: New York Knicks vs Brooklyn Nets

When: Oct. 25, 7:30 PM EST

Where: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York.

The battle of the boroughs is on. The Nets had a triphalating offseason at the expense of the Knicks, and look to seize the crown as New York’s team. In fact, they are capitalizing on it by giving out 10,000 Kyrie Irving jerseys on this very game, the Knicks and Nets first matchup of the season.

Knicks fans have typically dominated Barclays Center in such matchups, but the fan turnout on October 25th will give us a glimpse on how much, if at all, the Nets have taken over New York.

From a pure basketball perspective, this is a very winnable game for the Knicks. The Nets are without Kevin Durant for likely the whole season, and outside of Kyrie Irving, the roster does not inspire much confidence.

This will be a gritty game on both sides, and a game that means something for both teams. For the Nets, it is ushering in a new era, and for the Knicks, it is defending their prestige and reputation as the team in New York.
