Matchup: New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics

When: Oct. 26, 7:30 PM EST

Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, New York.

The Knicks may not have had much success vs the Boston Celtics in the last few years, but there is no disputing the rivalry between New York and Boston. This is the Knicks’ third game of the season against the new-look Boston Celtics.

Kemba Walker, a New York native, will make his first homecoming as a Boston Celtic, and Enes Kanter will return to the Garden for the first time on an opposing team since being released by the Knicks last season. This game will also be Marcus Morris’s first time playing his former team since signing with the Knicks in the offseason.

Boston is one of the premier teams in the East and will pose a challenge for the Knicks early in the season. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both a year older and are fresh off stints with Team USA. Pairing them with an All-Star in Kemba Walker, Boston has the foundation for a competitive squad this upcoming season.

The Knicks will know where they stand in regards to the top teams in the east from this matchup, and even if they are simply competitive, this game will be a positive for them.
