Which New York Knicks will make up the players on Exhibit 10 contracts entering training camp in late September?

Training camp will start for the New York Knicks on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Their 15-man roster is set, along with one player on a two-way contract. However, they can have up to 20 players at camp, which usually transpires for seven days, before the preseason starts in early October.

With those extra spots, the Knicks filled them up with players on Exhibit 10 contracts, which guarantees $50,000 if the player is waived before the regular season starts and spends at least 60 days with the parent organization’s G League team. In this case, it is the Westchester Knicks.

The players on Exhibit 10 contracts can change once the Knicks release one of these players. For now though, these are the four players set to join the team later this month:

Amir Hinton

A 6-foot-5 guard, Hinton, at 29.4 points per game, was Division II’s leading scorer last season. He was not drafted, but the Knicks added him to their summer league team in July, allowing a chance to play against other professional talents.

Hinton’s chances to eventually make the main roster this season are slim, given the 15 guaranteed contracts that the Knicks have. Will that scoring pedigree translate to the G League?

Kenny Wooten

Wooten was the most impressive of these Exhibit 10 players at the summer league. The ability to block shots came through at 2.5 per game, which already developed in his two seasons at Oregon. While the offensive side of his repertoire leaves much to be desired, there is potential for him to work onto an NBA bench as a reserve.

Lamar Peters

Peters spent three years as a point guard at Mississippi State, averaging 10.8 points and 4.4 assists. A 38.5 shooting percentage left something to be desired, but his plays effective perimeter defense, including 1.4 steals per game in college.

VJ King

King entered Louisville as a highly-touted prospect, but he never lived up to expectations in three underwhelming seasons. The Knicks saw enough to give him a chance, so his game translating in a more stable NBA situation is possible.

The New York Knicks can still add more Exhibit 10 players if they clear room, so the list may grow. These players will eventually consume the Westchester roster, with the chance for fans to follow their progress throughout the basketball season. Perhaps one of them takes the empty two-way spot, as well, to join Kadeem Allen.
