For more of a two-way backcourt talent, Danny Green is a current playoff-caliber option for the New York Knicks and a few years younger than Philadelphia’s Redick.

Three-point shooting and defense are necessary to not only improve this Knicks team, but realistically allow them to make noise in the postseason, when teams like the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks play their best basketball and use their depth and length to control the opposition.

Green has stuck with playoff teams for most of his career, including a run with the San Antonio Spurs through the 2010s and a championship in 2014. Now with the Toronto Raptors, his team is in the postseason’s second round. Attribute that more to Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam, but there were quality role players surrounding them, and the UNC product was one of their best.

At age 32, this could be Green’s last multi-year deal to take him potentially two or three more seasons. His 46.5 percent shooting and 45.5 percent on three-pointers were stark rises from his last three years in San Antonio so, like Redick, there could still be improvement with age.

It all depends on how much Green costs and what money remains from the contracts the Knicks sign top-tier players to, if anyone. He is still worth watching this postseason and makes sense for the front office to target at shooting guard.
