The Atlanta Hawks will potentially own two picks in the top 10 of the 2019 NBA Draft. Their guaranteed selection, though, comes first, with a projected spot at fifth overall. They land here after a difficult but promising season, with Trae Young and Kevin Huerter flashing promise as this organization’s future.

However, the building can’t and won’t stop there. It continues with Virginia’s De’Andre Hunter, who’s one of this class’s top wing prospects.

At 6-foot-8 and a seven-foot wingspan, Hunter is the ideal NBA player for the modern day. He defends well and hits three-pointers, so this could become the glue piece to the puzzle, especially if the Hawks take a power forward or center with their next pick.

Hunter is not this draft’s most athletic player, and he may never average 25 points per game, but he possesses the ability to impact the game at both ends for the next 10 years. That’s valuable towards Atlanta’s development and a future playoff team.

Hunter would fit into the New York Knicks, who can use anything, but they need defensive talent to pair with Mitchell Robinson. Most of their players help on just one side of the ball, so the Cavaliers’ star makes for a welcomed addition.
