4. Mitchell Robinson

Selected in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft, Mitchell Robinson possesses intriguing upside, yet as a raw player. It became a terrific value pick for the New York Knicks, building their assets towards the future or a trade like this.

Robinson has years to go in his development. He skipped college, lost a year to gain experience and showed inconsistencies on the court. With learning, though, there’s little question it results in a bright future.

To gain a superior big man, however, the Knicks may have to surrender one of their own, a Louisiana native, to resupply the Pelicans with a center.

So far, Robinson has shown shot-blocking and alley-oop ability. It’s the extent of his game, for now, with trying to stay out of foul trouble his goal. This has become a problem throughout the season, limiting his on-court time and sticking as a reserve, not a starter.

For this deal, Robinson becomes an almost unquestioned part of this deal, pending they Knicks don’t send another frontcourt asset, and starts at center for the now-rebuilding New Orleans squad.

Like Ntilikina, it’s too soon to relinquish Robinson but, to acquire someone of Davis’ caliber, is there any other choice for New York’s front office to make?
