1. A healthy Kristaps Porzingis

The exact return date of Kristaps Porzingis from his ACL surgery is anyone’s guess. The team released a statement earlier in the month saying he is making good progress and will be re-evaluated sometime in February, but that’s been about it.

KP’s health is imperative to the future success of the Knicks. Not only is he a seven-foot unicorn with incredible two-way versatility at age 23, but he is probably the biggest selling point New York has to offer potential signees in free agent meetings.

Aside from that, he is unquestionably the Knicks’ best player, and they need him to help lead the team moving forward no matter who does or doesn’t come to New York in the summertime, as it’s clear they don’t perform very well in his absence.

The Knicks didn’t know what they were getting when they selected Porzingis fourth overall in 2015. It’s safe to say that pick has worked out better than anyone could’ve hoped.

He is the face of the franchise and has become a native son of New York. All Knicks fans want to see is him back playing the way he was pre-injury so he can pick up right where he left off and hopefully develop into one of the very best in the NBA.
