1. 40 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks vs. Pacers: Nov. 5, 2017

Kristaps Porzingis has accumulated multiple 30-point games over two-plus NBA seasons, but just once did he reach the 40-point mark with the New York Knicks.

In just the ninth game of 2017-18, Porzingis scored 40 points, grabbed eight rebounds and swatted six shots against the Indiana Pacers on Nov. 5, 2017.

It was a night when New York shot 50 percent from the field, attributing it to Porzingis’ 62.5 percent and the bench, which played efficiently in the 108-101 win at home.

Porzingis’ best run came in the fourth quarter, when he dropped 17 points and missed just two shots. Another nine came in the third to highlight his incredible second half and keep the Knicks afloat with Indiana’s stellar shooting.

Porzingis scored 30-plus points 11 times in 2017-18, and the Knicks were 9-2 when this happened. So even before the post-injury record and the difficult start to 2018-19, there was upside to turn everything around.

Now, the New York Knicks miss Porzingis’ dynamic presence. They have few players to create their shot, and the standout player, Tim Hardaway Jr., can’t do it all.
