The New York Knicks have wrapped up their first week of 2018-19 after Monday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Which players stood ahead of the pack for these four matchups?

Through four games, the New York Knicks have compiled a 1-3 record, with their most recent result a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on the road. It featured six players in double-digit points, including Tim Hardaway Jr. and Enes Kanter.

Players have stepped up in each matchup for the Knicks—some more than others—to lead the way. It led to standout performances, including 30-point nights and double-doubles on the stat line.

With these games and showings over, which five players have stood above the rest in the first week of the season? Let’s break it down in the first player power rankings:

. . Previous: . Allonzo Trier. 5. team. 27

Slash Line: .414/.429/.882
Season Averages: 10.5 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 1.3 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 0.8 3PM

Not Kevin Knox or Mitchell Robinson, but Allonzo Trier has taken over as the top New York Knicks rookie through the first week. The praise started at training camp, carried into the preseason and followed through in four regular-season games.

While the hype train for Trier justified itself, his first NBA games showed inconsistency on the stat sheet. That’s with point lines of 15, 8, 15 and 4, respectively. Though, it that doesn’t take away his revelatory play for the Knicks so far.

Trier already developed into one of New York’s main scorers, even off the bench. His play supplements what those higher in the hierarchy provide and, also, provides backup ball-handling duties, as seen in Monday’s game against the Bucks.

This led to 10.5 points per game on 41.4 percent shooting and a 42.9 percent mark from three-point range. The additional stats don’t show much, but it’s still early in the Arizona product’s young career.

If not for Damyean Dotson only playing two of the four games, he might hold this No. 5 spot, due to an honorable mention of 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds. That can change in the second week but, for now, Trier breaks in and can stay with strong performances against the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets.
