While Kevin Knox has been earning praise from all over, does it mean that he is ready to produce day one for the New York Knicks?

The NBA Las Vegas Summer League felt like a tease to us New York Knicks fans as we are dying to see how some of these storylines play out.

Will Frank Ntilikina make vast improvements in year two, or will Mitchell Robinson become a starter at some point in the season? These questions and storylines are important, but maybe not as important as rookie Kevin Knox’s production right out the gate.

Knox’s time after becoming a New York Knick with the 9th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft was filled with comments tempering Knicks’ fans expectations, imploring them to be patient with the new guy. Similar to when Kristaps Porzingis was first drafted (both even included boos from Knicks’ fans).

But even with those somewhat low expectations, Porzingis was able to contribute day one, while showcasing a beautiful foundation that has escalated fans to calling him a “unicorn.” But will we be seeing the same kind of production from Knox? In what areas can we see him producing more or less?
