Ron Baker

2K18 Rating: 74
2K19 Predicted Rating: 69

After missing most of the season due to shoulder surgery, Ron Baker will look for his last contractual season with the New York Knicks to turn things around.

Though Baker’s stats from last season (when healthy) weren’t impressive, it was the things that didn’t show up on the stat sheet that he was able to do exceptionally well. Playing hard-nose defense, diving for loose balls, and out-hustling opponents are reasons he’s still on the roster.

Ending at a 74 overall seems a little steep at this point for Baker, especially after missing most of the season, but it seems that he’s probably in store for a fall in his overall rating.

Lance Thomas

2K18 Rating: 70
2K19 Predicted Rating: 68

Getting lower on the depth chart, we find ourselves with Lance Thomas, who hasn’t been anything special in production for the Knicks. While he’s one of the Knicks’ better defenders and leaders on the court, his offensive game is quite underwhelming.

He has the ability to stretch the floor, but still isn’t the biggest threat to opposing teams. At 30 years old, Thomas has been somewhat consistent in his play through the last few years of his career.

Still, with his age and no noticeable improvements during the 2017-18 season, I expect his rating to dip to a 68 overall.

Damyean Dotson

2K18: 69
2K19 Predicted Rating: 69

After a somewhat quiet Summer League, Damyean Dotson will be looking to show improvements in year two. Last season, when Dotson had the chance to play, he was able to show signs of being a solid two-way player for the Knicks.

If reports are true and the Knicks are looking to trade Courtney Lee, we could see an expanded role from Dotson. Until then, he hasn’t shown enough to warrant an increase in his overall rating.

That is subject to change throughout the season, though, as he appears to be one of David Fizdale’s early favorites on the roster.
