The New York Knicks selected Kevin Knox at No. 9 overall at the 2018 NBA Draft. Here are five reasons you should love this selection.

The New York Knicks entered the 2018 NBA Draft facing as much pressure as any franchise in the Association. With Kristaps Porzingis, Frank Ntilikina, and Tim Hardaway Jr. already under contract, the Knicks had both a solid core and a need to find the the glue to keep it together.

The jury is still out about the quality of the selection, but Knicks fans have reason to be excited about the latest addition to the improving roster.

In the weeks leading up to the 2018 NBA Draft, the Knicks were linked to almost every prospect imaginable. That includes reports of a desired trade up and incessant rumors about the Knicks’ well-documented attempts to add a quality wing.

With the No. 9 overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Knicks ultimately selected Kentucky Wildcats hybrid forward Kevin Knox.

Knicks fans offered a mixed reaction to the pick, primarily due to their voiced preference of Michael Porter Jr., but  Knox is a prospect who’s worth knowing.

Knox, 18, picked up steam in recent days as a projected top-10 draft pick. The Knicks were viewed by some as his most likely destination, as he checks boxes in a number of areas in which the front office has been looking to improve.

The question is: Why is it that New York Knicks fans should love the selection of Kentucky Wildcats forward Kevin Knox at No. 9 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft?
