Michigan State Spartans star Miles Bridges has received comparisons to Golden State Warriors forward and NBA Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green. The likening is lazy and based on the program they’re coming from, but that doesn’t mean Bridges isn’t worth looking at.
Regardless of whom you believe Bridges best compares to, what’s clear about him is that he’s one of the most well-rounded offensive players in this class..
Bridges will do a healthy dose of his damage in the NBA as a midrange scorer. He’s dramatically improved his ability to create off the bounce, and is more than capable of pulling up from 16-to-20 feet and shooting with a hand in his face.
Bridges is also capable of utilizing his powerful frame to create space in the post and finish over either shoulder when given the opportunity to do so.
Defensively, Bridges overcomes his lackluster length with a strong frame and the ability to cramp a ball-handler’s space. He’s also a solid rebounder, a skilled passer, and an effective three-point shooter who would check a number of boxes on the Knicks’ list.
There may be players ranked ahead of Bridges, but he’s gaining steam as one of the prospects whom the New York Knicks are truly enamored with.
