The New York Knicks will select the best player available. Who are the top five point guard prospects for general manager Scott Perry to consider?

New York Knicks general manager Scott Perry has made it clear that the strategy for the 2018 NBA Draft is to select the best player available. It’s a surprising decision that could create unexpected possibilities in the backcourt.

Despite the surplus of point guards who are already on the roster, the Knicks have made it clear that they would be open to selecting a point guard.

It was recently reported that the Knicks are unlikely to select a guard in the 2018 NBA Draft. Perry has made it clear that he’d be willing to do so in the event that said player blew the front office away, however, which is a legitimate possibility.

There are a number of point guards in this class who could intrigue the Knicks, as well as a select few who could realistically blow them away.

In some instances, said point guards can run the offense as a facilitator with tremendous court vision. In others, the prospects on the board are heralded more for their ability to put points on the board in something of a hurry.

The question is: Who are the top five point guards in the 2018 NBA Draft, based in large part on how they’d fit with the New York Knicks?
