The 2018 NBA Draft Lottery is in the history books. Here are early projections for the New York Knicks and the rest of the NBA following the event.
Tuesday, May 15 was one of the most important dates of the 2018 NBA offseason. Four teams are still playing, but for 14 of the other 26 franchises, all eyes were glued to a different program presented by the Association.
The 2018 NBA Draft Lottery was held on Tuesday, as 14 franchises had their respective fates determined by the unpredictability of ping pong balls—because sports.
With the top 14 set, it’s only rational to evaluate what these franchises may be thinking. There was minimal movement early in the reveal, but as soon as the first seven teams were slotted, madness ensued across the board.
In the end, it was the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, and Atlanta Hawks that won the 2018 NBA Draft Lottery and sent the rest of the Association into a proverbial spiral.
With a new top three, the assumptions about who will be available further down the board have changed. That will impact the Knicks, amongst other franchises, as they look to maximize the value of their first-round draft pick.
The question is: How did the 2018 NBA Draft Lottery impact the New York Knicks and the rest of the top 14 picks in the annual selection process?
