The New York Knicks are making progress towards hiring a new head coach. Find out which candidates the organization is set to interview!
The New York Knicks are in the process of finding the head coach who will help it achieve an elusive sense of stability. In addition to missing the playoffs in each of the past five seasons, no Knicks coach has lasted three full seasons since Mike D’Antoni departed in 2012.
Thankfully, the front office is acting hastily and committing to an interview process that will feature a number of coveted options.
Whomever the front office chooses will be the third full-time head coach since Kristaps Porzingis was drafted in 2015. That doesn’t include Kurt Rambis, who held the interim position for 28 games during Porzingis’ rookie season.
If the Knicks are going to avoid endangering Porzingis’ future by asking him to constantly adjust to new philosophies, then they must find a permanent fixture.
Jeff Hornacek made progress as far as player development was concerned, but the Knicks opted against allowing him to finish out his contract. The organization will instead pick a candidate from one of the most promising talent pools in recent memory.
The question is: Who are the coaches whom Scott Perry, Steve Mills, and the New York Knicks have already scheduled interviews with?
