The Golden State Warriors are more of a community of basketball minds than a team. The players are forward thinkers, the coaches qualify as the same, and the front office always seems to be a step ahead of the rest of the NBA.

Thus, if any team would be willing to take on the challenge of exploring Anfernee Simons’ untapped potential, it would be the Warriors.

Simons is attempting to make the direct transition from high school to the NBA. It’s a daunting task for a perimeter player, especially when they’re both undersized and lacking the ideal measure of length for a shooting guard.

If any team and system can help Simons become the high-quality combo guard that he’s flashed the potential of being, however, it’s the Warriors and Steve Kerr‘s beautiful offense.

With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as mentors, Simons will learn to buy in on the defensive end of the floor. Offensively, his range as a shooter and athletic finishing ability will be best utilized in a role that doesn’t task him with consistently creating in isolation.

Simons is believed to have All-Star potential, and it’s the Warriors that can help him develop into a potential long-term answer at one of the two guard spots.
