Troy Brown has garnered comparisons to a number of NBA players, including Andre Iguodala and Evan Turner. He’s nowhere near as athletic as Iguodala, but he may also be a better defender and three-point shooter than Turner.

Regardless of which comparison you believe is more fair, what’s clear about Brown is that he has the skill level and versatility to make his mark in the NBA.

On the offensive end of the floor, Brown can create for his teammates as a legitimate point forward. He has excellent court vision for a wing and the passing ability to hit open players from angles that few are capable of seeing.

Brown is still a subpar shooter, but he’s made a concerted effort to improve in that regard—a promising sign that he can be a more modern version of Turner.

Defensively, Brown’s length is an asset that he utilizes to defend players at multiple positions. His effort is a plus, as well, which makes it possible for the Indiana Pacers to justify selecting Brown at No. 23 overall and starting him as soon as 2018-19.

Brown could also be in play for the New York Knicks if they fall further than their current placement in the 2018 NBA Draft, but he goes to a rival here.
