The San Antonio Spurs appear to have found the point guard of the future in Dejounte Murray. That may be a bold claim, but based on individual performance and the advanced metrics, he’s already developed into one of the best defensive players in the NBA.

Thus, with the No. 22 overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Spurs should look to pair Murray with a shot creator who can hold his own on defense, as well.

Chandler Hutchison may not be coming from a major program, but he has all of the tools to be the Spurs’ next great success story. He’s a quality shooter who can work without the ball and get his shots off in tight coverage due to his 6’7″ size, 7’0″ wingspan, and high release.

Hutchison is far more than just a shooter, however, as he looks the part of one of the best all-around scorers in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Hutchison has a tight handle that enables him to drive the lane and get to the rim, where he can finish acrobatically or simply take it strong to the iron. He also has a lethal midrange game and the ability to post up smaller defenders.

Throw in Hutchison’s ability to create for his teammates and defend multiple positions, and he’s the type of prospect who could become an All-Star in San Antonio.
