The 2018 NCAA Tournament has officially concluded. How would the 2018 NBA Draft play out if it were held today? Moreover: What would the New York Knicks do?


The 2018 NCAA Tournament was one of the wildest in the vast history of college basketball. A slew of contenders and household names were eliminated before the Sweet 16 could even arrive, with some of the most unlikely success stories captivated the masses.

In the end, it was the Villanova Wildcats that ultimately defeated the Michigan Wolverines to emerge as the 2018 national champions.

With the 2018 NCAA Tournament behind us, the time for in-game evaluation for the 2018 NBA Draft has officially concluded. Thus, it’s only rational to look at what we already know and determine what it currently means.

For the New York Knicks, the 2018 NCAA Tournament may serve as validation for what’s become a widely speculated desire to target a specific championship-caliber wing.

For the other 29 teams in the NBA, however, the NCAA Tournament may or may not have influenced their thinking. It’s a riveting event, but utilizing it as the end-all, be-all would require one to ignore the months—and in some cases, years—of knowledge they’ve accumulated.
