The Sweet 16 commenced on Thursday, Mar. 22. Which 2018 NBA Draft prospects and potential New York Knicks targets stepped up?

With the postseason an afterthought and winning games as damaging as it is productive, the New York Knicks have turned their attention to the 2018 NBA Draft. New York has a solid foundation of quality young players, but needs another franchise cornerstone to bring it all together.

The Knicks’ options have certainly expanded during the 2018 NCAA Tournament, where the organization has been enabled to scout an intriguing measure of unsung talent.

The 2018 NCAA Tournament has officially become the wildest event in the history of college basketball. Before the Sweet 16 could even arrive, two No. 1 seeds, a pair of No. 2 seeds, a duo of No. 3 seeds, and a trio of No. 4 seeds were all eliminated from the field.

During the first day of the Sweet 16, March Madness continued with a slew of results that produced an unlikely crop of contenders in the Elite Eight.

In some instances, the players whom scouts expected to step up did exactly that for their respective teams. In others, the rising prospects who have broken out during the NCAA Tournament continued to shine.

The question is: Which 2018 NBA Draft prospects and potential New York Knicks targets stepped up on Day 1 of the Sweet 16?
