The rumor mill is running rampant with reports about the future of the New York Knicks. What’s the latest buzz from around the NBA?

The New York Knicks are coming to the end of a 2017-18 NBA regular season that hasn’t exactly gone according to plan. The franchise player suffered a season-ending knee injury, the playoffs are an afterthought, and the development of the younger players hasn’t exactly been a top priority.

As the Knicks close in on the end of the 2017-18 campaign, the rumor mill is running wild with reports about potential significant changes.

New York is in a difficult situation in the sense that the first-year general manager hasn’t yet been given a full offseason to build his roster. He wasn’t hired as general manager until two weeks of free agency had already passed, meaning a vast majority of the ideal targets were off the market.

Thus, head coach Jeff Hornacek has gone through a season without an ideal measure of talent at one of the most significant positions in the modern NBA: Small forward.

Nevertheless, the Knicks have resurfaced on the rumor mill as a team that could soon make significant changes. Only time will tell how valid the rumors are, but given the reputable sources they’ve been coming from, there are certainly situations worth monitoring.
