The Texas Tech Red Raiders have stockpiled potential NBA Draft prospects. Explosive wing Zhaire Smith is on the first round bubble and sharpshooting freshman Jarrett Culver could soon follow in his footsteps, if not in 2019.

One of the most criminally overlooked prospects in the 2018 NBA Draft, however, is a point guard with the offensive skill set to thrive at the next level: Keenan Evans.

If Evans weren’t a senior, he’d be one of the most sought after second-round prospects in this draft class. He’s a slashing point guard with an effective outside shot and the ability to create for his teammates off of drives.

There are certainly issues that he’ll need to address on defense and as a facilitator, but he has the offensive game of a Sixth Man of the Year candidate.

Evans has a lightning quick first step and the finishing ability to give teams nightmares in the paint. His percentage has dropped from beyond the arc in 2017-18, but he’s a good shooter whose slash line should improve with less iso-ball responsibility.

A capable isolation scorer who can also work without the ball, Evans is a player who could at least catch on as a quality backup with the New York Knicks.
