The Purdue Boilermakers are one of the most under-appreciated teams in the country. There aren’t many household names on the roster, but there are multiple high-level players who have legitimate NBA potential.

Perhaps the most underrated player on the roster is sophomore point guard Carsen Edwards, who has developed into one of the most dynamic scorers in the country.

Edwards is somewhat undersized at 6’0″, but his 6’5″ wingspan should help offset that concern on defense. He hasn’t yet displayed said traits, but he can be an excellent ball hawk and a potential impact player on defense with his ideal combination of length and quickness.

Edwards is also one of the stronger point guards in this draft class, as well as an athletic finisher who can use his speed and leaping ability to make plays above the rim.

Offensively, Edwards is a fearless three-point shooter with NBA range and the ability to pull up off the bounce. He’s not much of a facilitator, but he’s a better passer than the numbers show and a well-rounded scoring threat.

The New York Knicks could conceivably ink Edwards to a long-term contract and develop him in the G League until he’s ready to play in the NBA.
