Jevon Carter may be a senior, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be of value to an NBA franchise. He’s a two-way player in every sense of the word, with the potential for elite defense and the skill level on offense to help facilitate a system.

If the New York Knicks have a chance to select Carter during the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft, that option should at least be considered.

Carter has a modern offensive skill set that features two translatable traits: Three-point shooting and court vision. He’s one of the best playmakers in the country, with the ability to work the pick and roll, push the pace, and drive and dish.

In addition to ranking No. 28 in the country in assist rate, Carter is one of the better three-point shooters at his position—both in catch and shoot scenarios and off the bounce.

Defensively, Carter ranks No. 2 in the country in steals per game and No. 6 in steal percentage. He’s also an outstanding on-ball defender who utilizes his strong frame and advanced footwork to contain slashers and shooters alike.

For a Knicks team that ranks dead last in three-point field goals made and No. 29 in steals per game, Carter would be an excellent fit.
