New York Knicks: 2018 NBA Draft targets who stepped up on Mar. 17
Keita Bates-Diop saw his junior season end on a heartbreaking note, but he shouldn’t hang his head. In what may have been his last game at the college level, Bates-Diop put forth one of the best performances of his career thus far.
As the New York Knicks search for options to help solidify the defense and add three-point range to the offense, Bates-Diop has earned consideration.
Bates-Diop did everything in his power to give the Ohio State Buckeyes a chance at victory. He finished the 90-84 loss to the Gonzaga Bulldogs with 28 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one block in 38 minutes of action.
Bates-Diop shot 10-of-21 from the field, 4-of-9 from beyond the three-point line, and 4-of-4 at the free throw line in yet another efficient display of his abilities.
At the next level, Bates-Diop’s length and defensive versatility are what should get him early run and sustained playing time. His improved three-point shooting is an asset, as well, and his ability to get to the basket has become a quality complementary skill.
If this was Bates-Diop’s final game at the collegiate level, it was a beautiful display of how much he’s grown and how much better he can still become.
