The Kansas Jayhawks have been one of the most explosive teams in the country during the 2017-18 college basketball season. One of the keys to Kansas’ championship aspirations is a perimeter that features multiple players who can create in isolation.

As far as scoring is concerned, one could make a compelling case that no player is better than 2018 NBA Draft prospect Malik Newman.

Newman has been sensational since the beginning of the Big 12 Tournament. He averaged 24.0 points per game during Kansas’ run to the Big 12 title and opened the NCAA Tournament with an efficient 10 points, six rebounds, and two assists in 28 minutes.

During the Round of 32 meeting with a tenacious Seton Hall Pirates squad, Newman proved once again that he isn’t afraid of the biggest of stages.

Newman torched Seton Hall to the tune of 28 points in 37 minutes of action. He added three rebounds, two assists, and a steal, and shot 8-of-12 from the field, 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, and 8-of-8 from the free throw line.

This big-time performance offered yet another reason for the New York Knicks to select Newman in Round 2 and develop him as their Lou Williams.
