E.C. Matthews has garnered more NBA-level hype, but Jared Terrell has quietly emerged as a pro prospect himself. He’s a lights-out three-point shooter and an improved defender who could provide 3-and-D value at the next level if coached properly.

If the New York Knicks are looking to expand their options in Round 2 or target a player who could be an undrafted free agent, Terrell could soon break out as a player worth considering.

Terrell will have an immediate opportunity to prove himself in a matchup against Trae Young and the Oklahoma Sooners. Young is a projected top-10 draft pick, which makes the stage as grand as can be for this underrated Rhode Island team.

Terrell may not match Young shot-for-shot, but with all eyes on the Sooners star, the Rams standout will finally receive the spotlight he’s earned during his four-year career.

Terrell needs to improve his left hand, but he can drive right and finish at the rim. He can also work both with and without the ball to convert the outside shot, which provides intriguing versatility for head coach Jeff Hornacek to tap into.

Terrell is far from a perfect prospect, but he could be a great addition to the Westchester Knicks and a potential call-up to the main roster.
