The UCLA Bruins have a history of producing NBA-caliber point guards. That list includes Lonzo Ball, Darren Collison, Jrue Holiday, and Russell Westbrook, as well as combo guard Zach LaVine and retired All-NBA honoree Baron Davis.

The next in line could be current Bruins star Aaron Holiday, who’s coming off of what may have been the best game of his collegiate career—or since his previous outing.

Holiday saved his best for when it mattered most, posting 34 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and two steals in an 88-77 win over the Stanford Cardinal. He shot 12-of-25 from the field, 5-of-9 from three-point range, and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.

Beyond the numbers, Holiday did everything his team needed him to on both ends of the floor in what was essentially a must-win game.

Holiday has now scored 34 points in each of the past two games, with the previous performance coming against the rival USC Trojans. That continues what’s been a stellar junior year, during which he’s averaged 20.5 points and 5.9 assists per game.

Holiday was on the radar during 2016 and 2017 NBA Draft cycles, and he should now be the top option for the New York Knicks in Round 2 of the 2018 NBA Draft.
