The New York Knicks have limited cap room, but there are some free agent targets who could be acquired for a reasonable cost.

Due to the money dolled out over the past few seasons, the New York Knicks are limited when it comes to free agency. The player options will define how much space the Knicks actually have, but it projects to be a low figure.

Thankfully, there are still a few pending free agents who are capable of making a positive impact on the 2018-19 season without breaking the bank.

The salary cap explosion of the past couple offseasons has left many teams crippled with financial albatrosses around their necks. The thought process among NBA front offices was that because of the extra money given out to each team, huge, long-term contracts given out to mid-level players wouldn’t be as financially straining.

It didn’t work, and the Knicks are one of the teams affected.

Partly due to the $70+ million dollar contracts given out to Joakim Noah and Tim Hardaway Jr., the Knicks will not be in the market for the superstars of the free agent class. But with a lack of depth on the wing and Kristaps Porzingis likely out until February, the Knicks need to upgrade their roster.

These are a few of the low-cost players who could help the New York Knicks in the coming seasons.
