The New York Knicks have a number of quality point guards, but the 2018 NBA Draft could provide an opportunity to find a genuine star.

The working theory amongst New York Knicks fans is that the last thing this team needs is another point guard. Trey Burke, Emmanuel Mudiay, and Frank Ntilikina were all top 10 draft picks, and all are young enough to still realize their full potential.

When a team is as bad as the Knicks have been over the past five seasons, however, it’s simply irrational to write anything in pen.

Burke and Mudiay have thrived within small sample sizes, and Ntilikina has already become more of a combo guard as a rookie. Furthermore, general manager Scott Perry has empowered head coach Jeff Hornacek to utilize rotations that are closer to what he did in Phoenix.

Thus, it stands to reason that the Knicks would accept the opportunity to either draft a star-caliber point guard in the top 10 or create depth in Round 2.

In most instances, it would behoove the Knicks to look elsewhere on the night of the 2018 NBA Draft. In a select few situations, however, the Knicks can only benefit from improving the quality of talent on the roster—especially at a premier position.

The question is: Who are the best point guard prospects in the 2018 NBA Draft and how would they fit with the New York Knicks?
