The Oregon Ducks have become one of the better and more consistent teams in college basketball. Former Oregon players such as Jordan Bell, Dillon Brooks, and Joseph Young are currently in the NBA, which implies that Dana Altman can produce players who are worth drafting.

The difference between Troy Brown and those who came before him is the fact that he was one of the most coveted high school recruits in the country—and now, a potential lottery pick.

Brown is essentially a modernized version of current Portland Trail Blazers small forward Evan Turner. He’s not exactly an explosive athlete, but he’s a highly skilled player who can fill multiple roles on both ends of the floor.

Standing at 6’7″ and 215 pounds, Brown has the size and frame to play either wing position and the strength to defend players up to the 4 spot.

Offensively, Brown is a skilled passer who can take his man off the bounce and find the open man along the perimeter. He’s also an improving shooter who isn’t yet efficient from beyond the arc, but has seemingly accepted that he’ll need to add the shot to his arsenal.

If Brown were to become a quality three-point shooter with the New York Knicks, he’d be able to maximize the potential that he and Turner possess(ed).
