As the postseason becomes an afterthought, the New York Knicks should look to acquire a first-round draft pick. Which teams might be willing to trade?

The New York Knicks are rapidly approaching the point of no return. With the 2018 NBA trade deadline on the horizon, the organization is both drifting further towards the lottery and dreaming of a postseason appearance—a polarizing reality.

As the Knicks stare down the arrival of the trade deadline, a question has inevitably beckoned: If New York rebuilds, who may be willing to help facilitate the process?

The Knicks have become one of the most fascinating case studies in the NBA. There’s a considerable amount of talent for the push for the postseason, but there’s also a questionably realistic opportunity to end the postseason drought.

Thus, New York has inevitably been presented with the possibility of missing out on a chance to draft a future cornerstone as it dreams of an unrealistic postseason appearance.

With the trade deadline looming, the Knicks will have a chance to make a move for their future. Multiple teams have draft picks that would be of value to the organization, and New York has valuable assets who could command significant value.

The question is: Which teams might be willing to give up a first-round draft pick in a potential trade with the New York Knicks?
