Rumor: Enes Kanter Catching Attention

New York Knicks center Enes Kanter is rapidly developing into the most consistently productive player on the roster. There are still flaws that he must address, but his effort and raw tenacity in the paint have paced the Knicks through games in 2017-18.

Due to the fact that Kanter is approaching unrestricted free agency, however, his future in New York has become difficult to predict.

Kanter is currently averaging 14.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.5 offensive boards, and 1.5 assists in 25.7 minutes per game. He’s shooting an absurd 60.9 percent from the field and 87.0 percent from the free throw line—both of which are career-highs.

According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, the Knicks’ resident double-double machine has garnered interest from around the NBA.

"Starting center Enes Kanter and backup center Kyle O’Quinn also have received interest from opposing executives, sources said, with members of the Golden State Warriors among those executives to express interest in 27-year-old big man O’Quinn."

It’s unclear which teams have expressed interest in acquiring Kanter, but he’s certainly making a positive impression on rival executives.

Kanter has done an outstanding job of establishing post position and getting the quick buckets that New York needs to open up games. What truly separates him from the pack, however, is that he’s a relentless rebounder who fights for every inch.

Kanter ranks No. 3 in the NBA in offensive rebound percentage, which is a fact that will appeal to executives far and wide—including those in New York.
