With the 2018 NBA trade deadline approaching, the New York Knicks have surfaced in incessant trade rumors. What’s the latest buzz?

The New York Knicks are in the midst of a week that will go a long way towards determining the future of the organization. A return to the NBA Playoffs is still within reach, but with the 2018 NBA trade deadline nearing, the time for patience is running out.

The franchise will now be forced to determine what it intends to do with the remainder of the 2017-18 NBA regular season—a decision that will have long-term implications.

It’s plausible that the Knicks will go all-in on getting Kristaps Porzingis postseason experience. Porzingis has encouraged the organization to do so, stating his belief that the front office should approach Feb. 8 with a buyer’s mentality.

There’s certainly merit to such a belief, as the Knicks are close enough to the No. 8 seed for one single trade to elevate them to lock status.

On the other end of the spectrum, New York is building around a core of 25-and-under players. Thus, it stands to reason that the NBA Draft would be the best possible avenue to success in a division that’s being overrun by up-and-coming players.

Only time will tell what trades Scott Perry will execute, but the latest buzz from around the NBA may indicate what the New York Knicks are thinking as the 2018 NBA trade deadline nears.
