The New York Knicks are in the market for an athletic wing who can round out the current core of players. Some may not want another international prospect, but the best option at the small forward position is 6’9″ sharpshooter Dzanan Musa.
With per 36 averages of 18.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.2 three-point field goals made, Musa’s value is clearly established at all levels.
Musa needs to improve his decision making, but he’s a fluid athlete and a fearless scorer. He’s more than willing to put the ball on the hardwood and drive the lane, and he can finish with a combination of athleticism and craftiness that fans rarely expect to see from European prospects.
What truly makes Musa special, however, is that he has a skill that should last an entire career: Seemingly endless three-point range.
The hesitation is inevitable with a European prospect, but if Musa were playing on the collegiate scene, he’d be a household name. He’s a pure scorer, but as he learns to trust his teammates and commit to defense, he should achieve a unique versatility in the NBA.
European prospects will always be polarizing figures, but Musa is tailor made for the modern NBA as an aggressive and versatile scorer with size on his side and a fearless nature.
