The New York Knicks reportedly contacted the Brooklyn Nets about a trade for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Should New York pull the trigger on a potential deal?

The New York Knicks are in the market for an athletic wing who can defend multiple positions. You could admittedly copy and paste that sentence for the other 29 teams in the NBA, but the point stands that New York is willing to execute a trade.

On Sunday, Jan. 28, Knicks fans received information that revealed one of the players whom the organization has interest in acquiring: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

Reports at this time of the year could indicate that a big move is on the horizon, but they could also be overreactions to exploratory conversations. Regardless of which it proves to be, said reports establish sound reason to discuss new possibilities.

Marc Berman of The New York Post certainly gave Knicks fans something to discuss when he reported that New York has contacted the Brooklyn Nets about trading for Hollis-Jefferson.

"One NBA source said the Knicks inquired about the Nets’ 23-year-old defensive forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, but Brooklyn asked for a first-rounder."

That’s a steep asking price, but the fact that New York as interest in Hollis-Jefferson is certainly worth discussing.

Hollis-Jefferson is in the midst of his third season with the Nets. Despite playing with a questionable amount of talent, he continues to develop into one of the more promising young wings in the Eastern Conference.

The question is: Should the New York Knicks pull the trigger on a trade for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson? Let’s weigh the pros and cons.
