Trey Burke

Over the course of the first three quarters, Trey Burke established himself as the least likely player to make this list. He’d made his only field goal attempt, but struggled to contribute much of anything as far as consistency and two-way play are concerned.

Come the fourth quarter, however, Burke stepped up to help lead the New York Knicks past the team that gave up on him in 2016.

Burke’s numbers hardly jump off the page, but he closed stronger than he started. He finished the win over the Utah Jazz with seven points, two rebounds, two assists, and a steal in just 15 minutes of playing time.

Burke shot 3-of-4 from the field and 1-of-1 from beyond the arc, and accounted for 10 points during the highly competitive fourth quarter.

When Utah pulled to within two points with 6:17 remaining in the fourth quarter, Burke buried a clutch three-point field goal. When the Jazz again cut the lead to two, he came back with a floater to make it a four-point game. He assisted two clutch shots shortly thereafter.

There’s no telling what the future will hold for Burke, but this strong showing against his former team could be the start of a solid run with the Knicks.
