The New York Knicks are mere weeks away from the 2018 NBA trade deadline. Which current players are the most likely to be traded and what might the return be?

While the potential intent remains unclear, the New York Knicks are widely regarded as a franchise that will be active before the 2018 NBA trade deadline. New York is toeing the thin line between tanking and a push for the postseason, with both approaches requiring a firm commitment.

Whether the Knicks attempt to build for the future, compete in the short-term, or blend the two strategies together, a question beckons: Who might get traded?

All eyes have been turned to the players and draft picks that the Knicks could acquire via a potential trade. Not quite enough attention has been given to whom New York would be tasked with trading, however, which is a discussion that’s never easy to have.

The unfortunate reality is that this current roster is unlikely to finish the 2017-18 regular season intact, and there’s good reason for that sad reality.

In one instance, the Knicks will be all but forced to move a valued player with an expiring contract. In the others, trade interest exists from around the Association, which has inevitably created the speculation that a trade could be looming.

The question is: If the New York Knicks are going to execute a trade before Feb. 8, then who are the most likely players to be traded?
