Nikola Mirotic, Chicago Bulls

Experience: 4th Season

The Chicago Bulls have been an entirely different team since Nikola Mirotic returned to the rotation. Mirotic has played like a star, Chicago has won more games than it had all season without him, and the trade market has expanded exponentially.

The jury is still out on whether Mirotic can maintain this splendid level of play, but the New York Knicks are perfectly equipped to help him do so.

Mirotic is a sharpshooting power forward who would help Jeff Hornacek build an unpredictable offensive unit. Between Mirotic and Kristaps Porzingis, Hornacek would have two accurate shooters—and general matchup nightmares—at the two interior positions.

That type of spacing would open the floor in an entirely different manner, thus enabling post play, the pick and roll, and slashing scorers to prosper with clearer lanes.

It’s worth noting that Mirotic and Porzingis both played in Spain’s Liga ACB. Mirotic became a European basketball superstar via his success with Real Madrid, and he could become the perfect complement to Porzingis with New York.

Mirotic would face his fair share of questions due to previous inconsistency and his lackluster defense, but he’d be a perfect fit on offense.
