Avoid Injuries

The New York Knicks can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries. Their most frequently hurt players have also been their best. Kristaps Porzinigis, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Enes Kanter have all dealt with injuries this season.

Porzingis, in particular, can’t afford to get hurt if this team is going to succeed. He’s already had two serious looking injuries that luckily haven’t resulted in lengthy absences.

Everyone held their breath on Nov. 29 when it looked as though Porzingis broke his ankle.

Enes Kanter has been the Knicks’ best acquisition since the drafting of Porzingis. His post offense is remarkable and he’s even stepped it up on defense. Kanter’s main issue this season has been that he’s been hurt almost all season.

He’s had back issues, leg issues, and recently received three stitches on his chin.

Hardaway has played up to his high-value contract so far. Unfortunately, a stress injury in his lower leg has kept him out since Nov. 29. He’s supposed to be re-evaluated soon, but the initial timetable was an evaluation in two weeks. That time has passed and he’s still rehabilitating.

The team has been cautious with his return so not to create a more severe injury. This Knicks will need to avoid injuries if they want to continue their successful season.
